Welcome

This library guide contains resources in support of computer and information sciences.  The introductory course (CIS 101) provides an excellent foundation for students to understand that "computer science is the study of the principles and the use of devices for the processing and storing of usually digital data using instructions in the form of a program." The Oxford Companion to the History of Modern Science

CIS students will gain practical knowledge of information science, which is "the systematic study of information in all its forms, including its collection, storage, retrieval, classification, manipulation, dissemination, and evaluation." - A Dictionary of Media and Communicaton
