This course provides an introduction to modern Spanish history with a focus on military affairs.  Major themes include struggles against Napoleon, counterinsurgency in Cuba and Morocco, the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939), the dictatorship of Francisco Franco, and ongoing issues of regional nationalism and terrorism.
