Your Task

This is your to-do list:

  1. Prepare to select a research question.
    1. You will be working to define research topics on the history of Chinese-American relations in the era 1900-1950
  2. Learn what the best databases are for your area of research.
    1. You will be looking for sources--scholarly books, and scholarly journals in databases like Readers Guide Retrospective, America History and Life, Historical Abstracts, JSTOR and  electronically available primary, sources such as FBIS.
  3. Identify search words and construct search engine searches that are -road enough to locate lots of material; narrow enough to bring relevant results.
  4. Schedule a follow-up with Liz Kocevar-Weidinger as you firm up topic (optional).
  5. Create your bibliography using Chicago Citation style.
