ASME requires a "List of References" in research papers. References to original sources for cited material should be listed numerically together at the end of the paper in order of their appearance in the text. You will find examples for journal articles, books, book chapters, technical reports, and more on the above web page.

The Writing Center offers online services during the spring 2021 semester. You can schedule appointments using your VMI username and password. Please be sure to attach your draft (and assignment sheet if available) to the appointment reservation.

Monday-Thursday: 0800-1600 and 1930-2230
Friday: 0800-1100
Sunday: 1500-2200
Online consultations take place in real-time using your computer's camera and microphone. You will receive an email confirmation when you make your appointment. Your consultant may also correspond with you by email, so check your email before your appointment.
