AASTeX Package for Manuscript Preparation
The American Astronomical Society (AAS) has developed a markup package to assist authors in preparing manuscripts. Cadets should use the author guide in the AASTeX Package when working on a bibliography. Use section 2.14, "Citations and Bibliography" to find examples.

The Writing Center
The purpose of the Writing Center is to provide non-evaluative assistance for cadets who wish to become more confident, flexible, skillful writers. Professional and peer writing consultants work with cadets in one-on-one conferences on every aspect of the writing process, from planning a paper to polishing the final draft.
215 Carroll Hall
The Writing Center offers both online and in-person services during the Fall 2020 semester. You can schedule appointments using your VMI username and password. Please be sure to attach your draft (and assignment sheet if available) to the appointment reservation.
Monday-Thursday: 0800-1600 and 1930-2230
Online consultations take place in real-time using your computer's camera and microphone. In-person consultations take place in 215 Carroll Hall. You will receive an email confirmation when you make your appointment. Your consulatant may also correspond with you by email, so check your email before your appointment.
