Linking to Database Content

Why Correct Links are Important

Off-Post Library Access

Most of the Library's databases, electronic journals, e-books, and other resources are available online, 24/7! However, most of them can only be accessed from off-Post by current VMI students, faculty, and staff.

You must log in with your eligible VMI network ID and password. See image below for an example of what you'll be prompted to do when you attempt to use any of our databases.

When sending any links from library books, articles, etc. you must use "VMI" ready links.

Link Basics:

  • In general, adding http://vmiezproxy.vmi.edu/login?url= in front of an address will make an article, book, video, etc. accessible off-post. HOWEVER, please refer to the database specific configurations - each one has different ways to create a working address.
