Library computers provide access to the internet and Microsoft Office 365 software.
Computers designated for VMI cadets, staff, and faculty users are located in the 5th Floor Reading Room and the 4th Floor Library Classroom (Room 410). Please note that access to these computers requires a current VMI username and password. If you are having difficulties logging in, please contact the Barracks Help Desk (cadets and rats) or the VMI Information Technology Help Desk (faculty and staff) at firstname.lastname@example.org or 540-464-7643.
Anyone may access the internet via the four public workstations located near the Service Desk, and these workstations do not require any login credentials. Please note that these computers are limited to browsing only, with black-and-white printing directly from the internet browser.
Connecting to WiFi
Preston Library offers eduroam, which is a secure wireless network accessible by both the VMI community and users at participating institutions. Use the directions here to connect to the eduroam network.
Library guests may also connect their personal devices to the non-secure VMI-Guest WiFi network, which does not require any login credentials.
