Print, Scan & Photocopy Services

Preston Library offers free black-and-white and color printing, faxing, scanning, and photocopying services to VMI cadets, faculty, and staff. For full access you must:

  • Possess a valid VMI ID.
  • Have a personal device that communicates with the FindMe - Cadets wireless printing system. Select the tabs on the left-hand side of the screen to view directions for setting up your Windows or Mac device.
    • It is important to note that wireless printing is available only when connected to eduroam WiFi network. 

Public users may access limited black-and-white printing and photocopying. Please see our Service Desk on the 5th Floor for details.

Printing from Your Personal Device

To print from your personal device:

  1. Verify that your personal device is set to communicate with the FindMe - Cadets wireless printing system. 
    1. If you need to set up a device, use the directions listed in the tabs on the left-hand side of the page.
  2. On your device, select FindMe - Cadets as your printer, set your desired printing settings, and then select Print.
  3. Go to any of the printers in the Library and wave your VMI ID card over the black card reader mounted to the machine. This action logs you into the printer.
  4. Using the printer's touch screen, select Print Release. Once selected, your print job(s) will be displayed on the screen.
  5.  Select the gray arrow next to the job(s) you would like to print and then select Print.
