Writing a Proposal Argument 

In your reading, research, and class discussions, you have identified a discourse community and selected a particular issue or problem of interest. In this essay, you will compose a proposal argument designed to shape the conversation and initiate action.  

Keeping in mind the key components of proposal arguments, frame a clear rhetorical situation for writing (occasion, target audience, message, and purpose). 

Requirements:

Length: 4 pages (1,250 words)

Research: You must incorporate thoughtfully selected and relevant information in support of your proposal from no fewer than two credible secondary sources.

Documentation: Follow MLA guidelines for parenthetical citations and a Works Cited page. (Refer to The Everyday Writer or Purdue OWL.)
