On Memorial Day we remember all of the men and women who have given their lives in service to our country, and particularly the VMI alumni who made the ultimate sacrifice. Memorials to fallen VMI alumni can be found throughout post, including in Preston Library.

The members of the VMI class of 1969 have memorialized the four members of their class who were killed in the Vietnam War through the Class of 1969 Memorial Room.

The Memorial Room is the main reading room on Preston Library's main level, and it includes portraits of Thomas G. Blair, Jr., Arthur L. Galloway, Jr., John W. Kennedy, and Franklin W. Webb.

The names of VMI alumni who have died in conflicts since World War I are accessible through the VMI Archives website: https://www.vmi.edu/archives/genealogy-biography-alumni/vmi-alumni-in-the-military/ . Individual lists for each conflict can be accessed by clicking on the tab with the same of the conflict.
